A surprisingly beautiful place almost in the very center of Moscow, where the heart stops and the hands on the clock stop. This reserved corner of Old Moscow I, for some reason, still could not manage to visit. Someone said that shooting was prohibited here, but I myself was convinced that it was free and surprisingly peaceful here. Many architectural sites of the Krutitsy monastery have not yet been restored; restoration, apparently, is not going at a particularly fast pace, and the compound is still not ready to appear before us in all its former glory. But, obviously, it will be interesting to see it in its current state, so that later, later, remember how it was here in the summer of 2016 ... I am not very much of a historian, so you can find information on the Internet. I will dwell on the most important facts from history. Go...
The Cathedral of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin on Krutitsy (the historical name of the Small Assumption Cathedral) in 1700 with the lower Church of Peter and Paul (1667-1689), built by Osip Startsev. Later, in 1895, the chapel of St. Sergius of Radonezh was added. The height of the cathedral to the under-cross apple is 29 m, the dome cupola is brick. Lost bells were cast in 1730.
The Krutitsy Teremok and the Resurrection Passages connecting the chambers and the cathedral were created in 1693-1694 by the architect Osip Startsev and Illarion Kovalev. The Teremok and the Holy Gates are lined with unique multicolored glazed tiles made by Stepan Ivanov (up to two thousand tiles were used).
We pass through the gate and on our right, the Metropolitan Chambers (1655–1670), which are a two-story brick building, adjoins the porch of 1727, which has preserved in its original forms, on the southern facade of the building.
We make a circle and again return to the Assumption Cathedral.
On the way back we take a look at Teremok.
Make yourself get up off the couch. Get to this unique place and just sit in silence and feel how the time stops. Especially the weekend promises to be hot.
