The researchers of the Main Hospital for Veterans and the National University of Yang-Min (Taiwan) told about this. Scientists compared data on 2,957 children and adolescents with iron deficiency anemia (IDA) and 11,828 healthy peers. The results of the study showed that the presence of IDA causes an increased risk of depressive, bipolar, anxiety disorders, autism spectrum disorders, nervous tic, mental retardation, and mental retardation.

Iron deficiency anemia often develops due to an insufficient amount of iron, which comes from food. Most of the iron is found in buckwheat, beef, liver, oysters, cabbage, turnips, artichokes, melons, potatoes, spinach, algae, lentils, beans, molasses, dried vegetables.

Scientists are continuing to research this problem and are looking for a way out of the situation.Perhaps children with IDA, in order to prevent mental disorders, will begin to prescribe iron supplements.
